To go or not to go, that is the question

Along with when to go, if at all.

A lower key attempt is possibly on the cards for the weekend. Wanting to give my self the best chance of success and that needs reasonable weather. Friday and Saturday don't look too good from a distance at the moment, but it can all change.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Remaining cloudy and breezy with heavy rain or showers throughout, with occasional hill fog. Fairly humid by night. Conditions probably improving during Saturday, but with scattered showers.

UK Outlook for Sunday 14 Aug 2011 to Tuesday 23 Aug 2011:

A generally unsettled end to the weekend with showers or longer spells of rain in the north, but somewhat drier and brighter in the south. Windy also, especially towards the west and northwest, with temperatures largely near normal across the UK. Heading into Monday, turning somewhat drier and more settled for a time across southern parts, whilst remaining breezy with occasional showers or longer spells of rain further north. These drier conditions continue for southeastern parts until mid-week, with more unsettled conditions in the west spreading erratically southeastwards. Thereafter, changeable conditions are expected for most parts of the UK, with the driest weather mostly towards the southeast. Temperatures likely to remain close to normal but perhaps slightly above in the brighter interludes in the south.

I think I will decide tomorrow based on the consensus of forecasts, but Sunday looks better than Saturday in the Lakes.
