Out and back along the Malvern Hills makes a cracking run, well worth trying.

Malvern Hills
I have passed about 5 miles or so south of the Malvern Hills many times in the last 14 years, but never took the time to visit them before last night. I wanted to answer the question "are my legs up to doing the full Peris Horseshoe" and it is a very good place to ask such questions. Lots of short hills, great running and stunning views in all directions. Did about 12 miles and got back just as it was getting dark, felt more like going for an explore and I just happened to be running than explicitly training. Legs were OK, but still heavy, so not recovered enough for the big time yet. I would end up having to flog myself and with a poor time. Always next year. Going to either do the half Peris or marshal dependent on need. Shame as the Peris Horseshoe is my favorite fell race of the year, but one of those things that had to slide this year to accommodate the Bob Graham and I am very happy out it.
